Drawing from the current experience of standstill in lockdown, the work Quarantine takes up the theme of isolation. Accordingly it can only be seen from outside, through the closed shopfront window. The entire surface of the illuminated shopfront interior of Berlin-Weekly is covered with a dark curtain. Through many small windows, rooms with varying degrees of brightness can be seen in which people live next door to each other. The window-filling view of people simultaneously moving in their interiors forms an image of the individual and collective experience of the moment.
On view in Berlin: Berlin-Weekly, from 28. January - 7. March 2021
